Our man in Nairobi

I was Rob’s House Tutor at Cranleigh, and have been in touch with him periodically since.  I was of course thrilled when he became Kenya’s High Commissioner, and even more so when he offered to visit my favourite school, Ronda Primary, in Nakuru yesterday, 29 January.  Our EnKI man in Nakuru, Joseph Halake, wrote:

Mr. Macaire brought and donated ball games equipment.  The school community were extremely happy and baffled by the high level visit to their humble environment.

On 29 January OC and British High Commissioner to Kenya, Rob Macaire (1 North, 1978-83), visited Ronda School in Nakuru, Kenya.

The attached photo shows him at the school with Mrs Ruto [head teacher], Joseph Halake [Enki Fund] and 4 pupils two of whom are wearing sports shirts donated by Cranleigh School and delivered to Ronda in October last year as part of a larger consignment of  sports clothing and footwear donated by the school and pupils.

Great to see the past links that Cranleigh have with Ronda school continuing and also great to see an OC as High Commissioner to a country where we have so many connections.
