Seventeen OCs attended the inaugural meeting of the Media Society at Landmark House in the City (69 Leadenhall Street) on July 5. It was organised by George Hawes (2&3 South, 1998), and was a most auspicious beginning to what will clearly be a valuable and enjoyable initiative.
The evening included a brilliant talk about the increasing role of Social Media in today’s media landscape from Social Media expert to the BBC, Sue Llewellyn (1&4 South, 1979).
Rather than speak, she engaged with the group, so that question and answer ranged widely over social interaction (Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter etc) as they effect the varied careers of those present. Also Topsy, “a real-time search for the social web” and a new one to some of us!
