Cranleigh is ranked Number 3 in 2014 Sport among Britain’s Independent Schools, up from 43rd in 2013. First and second, as in 2013, were Millfield and Whitgift. The list reflects competitive achievement in 20 different sports and more than 120 different national competitions.
Cranleigh won a variety of national titles. Congratulations to the many boys and girls involved. The Under 15 cricketers were the ECD/ESCA National Under 15 Cricket Champions, winning the Lord’s Taverners Trophy. In hockey the Under 16s became Outdoor Champions. In riding the dressage team came home as national champions. In the Kayak Regatta team members became National Sprint Champions and National Marathon Champions. At the London Aquatics Centre our Under 12 Girls were National Team Biathlon Champions (running and swimming), and an Under 10 swimmer became 25m Breaststroke Champion and National Record Holder.
A memorable postscript – Spain’s Under 19 American Football Team included a Cranleighan!
