Peter Wylie-Harris (West, 1956-1961) writes: After a year’s gap this event, started 22 years ago by John McDermott (2 North, 1952-1957) to foster close relations with the School and help raise funds for deserving school projects, was relaunched.
Beautiful weather provided the backdrop for a very enjoyable day for both the playing and non-playing golfers. The course was in excellent condition, as was the Champagne at the half way hut (Fives Courts). We had a very good lunch followed by tea in the Common Room, where we were joined by Martin (who promised to get his game in order for next year) and Amanda Reader who kindly presented the prizes,
The funds raised this year will go towards the new war memorial being designed by Nicholas Dimbleby (2 North, 1960-1964) .
A most enjoyable occasion.
