Martlet, the fourth girls’ house, was formally opened by Flight Lieutenant Tori Turner on November 24th. The house has been open since the start of the academic year.
The creation of the house took place during the summer term and holidays and was achieved by using some areas previously populated by south as well as taking in classrooms on the ground and first floor of the Connaught Block.
Tori (Lyle, pictured above with Becs Scott, Martlet’s housemistress) was one of six girls who started in the Lower Vth when Cranleigh went co-ed in 1999 and in her four years at the School she was in South and West as well as being part of Loveday during the transition of the old house structure. She has gone on to become a fighter pilot in the RAF.
