Congratulations to James Green (Cubitt 2019) and James Thornton-Wood (East 2019) for their excellent effort in running five half-marathons in five days at the end of May.
The pair picked a challenging week to undertake the challenge as temperatures rose into the mid 20s. The running was done late afternoon or early morning to try and avoid the worst of the heat. Three of their half marathons were run along the old railway from Cranleigh, one around Loxwood and the last one round Peaslake. Their best time was on day one at 1hr 53 minutes, not bad given an admitted lack of preparation.
They were running to raise money for NHS Charities Together, a charity for NHS staff, volunteers and patients impacted by the COVID-19 crisis.
At time of writing, including gift aid they have raised almost £1,800.00. Click here if you would like to add to their total.
