We spoke to AI entrepreneur Jake Subba Row (East 2018) about the road that lead him to setting a new business utilising AI to help the world of real estate
“At the core of my venture, OKII, we give real estate firms a blueprint towards embracing AI. Not only to save time but to drive real growth and revenue. Automating processes, enhancing strategy, and creating the next big unlock. The goal? Turn AI from buzzword to bottom line.
“The real estate industry is approaching an inflection point. It’s a slow-to-adapt field, but AI is changing that. We work with businesses to reduce manual admin using robotic process automation. We develop chatbots to handle inquiries 24/7, and we even improve lead gen with smarter funnels. These aren’t future concepts, they’re changes happening today, and they’re making an impact.
“Reflecting on my journey to OKII. I’ve realised how my experiences have shaped my approach to business and problem-solving. An early spark of entrepreneurial curiosity came during Cranleigh Prep’s Pound Challenge. We had to see how far £1 could stretch at the local Sainsbury’s. I imagine it’s the £2 challenge if it exists today at all! It taught me the value of resourcefulness and curiosity. Two skills that are key in helping businesses adapt to AI today.
“I went on to divert from the status quo of traditional universities. Instead, I studied Entrepreneurship, where I worked on hospitality and service ventures. These reinforced my idea that practical, hands on, trial and error is the best way to learn. For me at least. It suited me better than the theory. After university, I gained experience working in startups. This gave me the tools and ideas to launch OKII. What started out as a general AI agency pivoted to focus on a traditional industry adapting.
“AI shouldn’t be overwhelming or out of reach. For anyone. It should be practical, accessible, and tailored to real business needs. Without the fluff. By bridging this gap, we’re helping businesses make AI work for them. Not the other way round.
“It’s incredible to think the work I do today didn’t even exist when I was asked by my teachers what I would do. Most simply, OKII is my way of being helpful. Cranleigh gave me the curiosity and the confidence to explore new ideas. It’s those lessons, combined with what I’ve picked up along the way that drive me to help businesses in this new world.
