In May Graham Coult and Charles Henderson (both Cubitt 1993) will be cycling from the site of a former WW2 POW camp, Stalag18A in Wolfsberg, Austria to Odessa (or much more likely close to the border of Ukraine and back to Budapest). Their route follows that taken by Graham’s grandfather who escaped from a POW camp in 1944 and made his way to Odessa, a journey of over 1200 miles crossing five countries. As it is likely they will not be able to enter Ukraine the fallback plan is to turn around near the border and head back to Budapest to make up the number of miles to match his grandfather’s journey. Exact details of the route will be available nearer the time and you can follow them on an interactive map. The pair will be raising money for several charities linked to helping people with mental health issues.
Graham and Charles would be immensely grateful for any support you can offer, be it a donation or sponsorship (particularly in terms of accommodation or bike-baggage). Click here to see their PR leaflet or you can find out more, donate or follow their progress on their website .
